* Are the children allowed to use cue cards for the Flash Talk, Rap and Spoken Word Poem?
Cue cards can be used for the speech only
* Will there be a judging rubric for each stream that will be sent out to schools to ensure consistency?
Stream criteria are included in this document
* Who can use a microphone?
Rap, Spoken Word and Flash Talk may use a microphone if they wish to
* Can Rap have a backing track or beat?
Yes, this can be digital or percussion
* Can students begin with their mihi or other culturally important introduction?
Yes, there is a one minute time allowance for students to begin with a culturally important introduction, please note this is not an additional time to explain the context of the presentation
* Are points deducted for being over or under time?
Yes - 10% of the total points are deducted for being 30 seconds under or over time
* Are points deducted if the presentation is not based on the theme?
Yes - 10% of the total points are deducted for presentations that do not meet the theme criteria
* Are points deducted if the presentation is restarted?
We strongly encourage participants to restart if they can however 10% of the total points are deducted for presentations that need to restart
* Can we enter our finalists for the Auckland Finals without taking part in a cluster final?
Unfortunately we cannot accept finalists from individual schools. If you do not have a cluster competition please contact us by the end of Term 2 so that we can pair you with a neighbouring cluster.
* How do we enter our finalists for the Auckland Finals?
A google form will be shared in Term 3 for names of finalists
Meetings will be held for cluster co-ordinators in early Term 2
Locations in North, South, West, East and Central Auckland will be available
Cluster co-ordinators can contact Jane at any time to request assistance or clarification
