I don't need another PD showing me the new new thing.
I need space to refine the things I'm already doing,
chat about some activities I'm excited to do again,
and maybe pick up something new to try.
WiSSH is built to be that space.
The Wisconsin Summer Science Huddle is one day built around a simple idea: science educators learn best from each other. Not from watching a keynote. Not from a slide deck. From the person sitting across from you who teaches the same grade, wrestles with similar questions, and has figured out that thing you've been wondering about.
come to recharge your passion, connect with like-minded educators, and get support to grow your practice
WiSSH is a one-day event built around three main experiences:
Simulated Lessons + Community of Practice Sessions + Participant-driven Roundtables
The simulated lessons spark wonderings and connections, which are explored during community of practice sessions and roundtable discussions. As folks take part in the WiSSH activities, the resources and suggestions folks provide will be gathered into a shared space for everyone to return to later.
WiSSH will take place Tuesday, August 4th at Wauwatosa West High School
