Introduction

This topic is about the syntax of subjects. Up to this point, we have assumed that subjects originate in the specifier of T. In this lesson, we will review some evidence for the idea that subjects actually originate inside the verb phrase (hence: verb phrase internal subject) and move to the specifier of T.
