Genomics needs more data scientists to keep up with all the data being generated using modern genomics techniques. This program will provide cross-training in genomics research for Masters in Data Scientists at the University of Washington for students underrepresented in genomics research.
Students get paid to do genomics research while completing the UW Masters in Data Science Program.
Program Details
Program exclusively available to UW Masters in Data Science students.
Participants receive hands-on training in genomics data science research by working in genomics laboratories.
Conduct research part-time (15hr/week, Fall-Spring), then full-time (40hours/week) during the Summer Quarter. Program continues Year 2 part-time (15hr/week, Fall-Winter).
Career development, networking, and personalized 1-on-1 mentoring geared towards your personal career interests. Learn from and work with teams of genomics researchers to investigate and analyze genomics data sets.
Paid travel to attend research conference and present work.
