I joined Debate Society at the University of Washington to find a community of individuals who share my passion for speech and debate. I want to find avenues to grow as a speaker and help other committed students do the same, and I believe DSUW is the perfect place for me to pursue that goal.

I became a part of DSUW as a way to build friendships and apply the malleability of my skills in a way that I was not previously familiar with. As an ambitious out-of-state freshman—passionate about advocacy and open speech—I wanted to foster in the diverse UW communities by getting directly involved, all while sharpening my abilities in speech and argumentation.
