Future Plan

Our design might not work so well for the students who do want intensive and detailed tracking. With our design, we tried to cater to the general population, but that means that for certain students who want to be more serious, the app does not meet their expectations. Another area where our design might fail is when the AI hallucinates or generates stuff incorrectly or poorly. For example, if our AI makes a recipe and messes up the cook time. This could lead someone to make undercooked food and get sick. Another example is if the AI camera tracker does such a poor job that the estimate for food nutrition is not even close. Our app does not aim for perfection, but it does aim for a close estimate.

Some of these problems also lead to our main assumption, which is that most students would want an app that is easy to use. We did interview actual students, but it was a small set of only 6 people. Most of these people mentioned convenience, but that might not be representative of the actual target users. Another assumption that we made was that our app being easy to use would make users stay consistent. Other than the ease of use and the daily check-in, we do not currently have another way to keep users consistent.

In order to keep our app easy and simple to use, we removed a lot of features. This means that our app can do less overall, but it is super simple to use with very little to learn. This was worth it to us because we wanted to target an audience that valued convenience rather than functionality. In the same vein, we also made our app design super simple. This meant that it doesn't look too appealing or nice, but it is simple and easy to navigate.

In the future, it could be good to roll out functionalities like having a social aspect. Whether that means posting or just adding discussion capabilities. Kind of adding something like Reddit or Discord to it to try to keep people on the app and consistent with their community.
