2024 Workshop: The Climate and Diversity Committee is happy to announce that this year's workshop will focus on supporting underrepresented groups and first-generation students in the University of Washington Physics department. Please find more information at this year's website.
The Climate and Diversity Committee at the University of Washington (UW) Physics Department is pleased to offer a workshop for all UW affiliates interested in supporting women+ in physics. The workshop will consist of talks, panel discussions, and poster sessions. The majority of the talks will be directed at all career levels, with a few talks tailored to undergraduate/graduate audiences or to postdocs/faculty members (see schedule for details). Attendees will have opportunities to network and discuss current issues faced by women in physics.
When: 2023, May 5th (2:30 - 6:45 PM) and May 6th (9:30 AM - 3:00 PM).
Where: Physics/Astronomy Auditorium (location details below).
Eligibility: All current UW undergraduates, graduates, postdoctoral researchers, staff and faculty are welcome to register regardless of gender identity.
Poster Presentations: All attendees can submit a poster. Those who identify as women+ are strongly encouraged to submit a poster. Please indicate your interest in presenting a poster when submitting the registration form. Please contact us if financial constraints may deter you from presenting a poster.
Registration: Was free and mandatory. Registration is now closed.
This workshop is generously funded by a UW Seed Grant, the Physics Department, and individual faculty donors.
