Core Concept
StudyNest is an AI-assisted learning platform designed to help university students use AI as a learning partner instead of a shortcut. The platform supports students through guided tutoring, adaptive hints, progress tracking, and study planning. Instead of giving direct answers right away, StudyNest encourages students to understand course concepts, reflect on their learning, and build independence over time.
How users Interact With StudyNest
Users begins by signing in and setting up their academic information, such as their courses, study goals, and preferred support style. After setup, users arrive at the dashboard, where they can see their courses, study progress, upcoming tasks, and recommended focus areas.
From the dashboard, users can move between the main sections of the StudyNest: AI Tutor, Progress, and Planner. The AI Tutor helps students work through academic questions using hints and step-by-step guidance. The progress page shows mastery, learning growth, and achievements. The Planner helps students organize study sessions, deadlines, and goals.

Low-Fidelity Prototype
Our team first created a low-fidelity prototype to explore the main structure and user flow of StudyNest. These early sketches focused on the layout of the dashboard, AI Tutor, progress page, and planner before adding detailed visual design.
The low-fidelity prototype helped us test whether the main features were understandable and whether users could navigate the platform easily. It also allowed us to identify confusing parts early, such as how the AI Tutor should guide users and how the planner should connect to academic goals.

High-Fidelity Prototype
After receiving feedback from usability testing, our team created a high-fidelity prototype in Figma. This version included a more polished interface, clear navigation, course cards, progress indicators, support levels, and study planning features.
The high-fidelity prototype shows how StudyNest would look and feel as a real digital product. It also made the learning flow clearer by showing how users would select courses, choose support levels, ask the AI Tutor questions, track progress, and manage study sessions.
The Dashboard gives students an overview of their courses, study progress, upcoming tasks, and recommended focus areas. It helps users quickly understand what they should work on next and keeps their learning progress visible
The AI Tutor is the main feature of StudyNest. Students can ask academic questions and receive guided hints, explanations, and step-by-step support. Instead of immediately giving direct answers, this screen encourages students to think through problems and build understanding.
The Progress page helps students track mastery, learning growth, achievements, and areas where they need more practice. This screen supports independent learning by showing students whether they are actually improving over time.
The Planner helps students organize study sessions, deadlines, and academic goals. It connects StudyNest's learning support with real coursework, helping student manage their time and stay on track.
How the Design Addresses the Problem
Together, these screens show how StudyNest shifts AI from an answer generator into a guided learning partner. The AI Tutor supports learning through hints and explanations, the Progress page builds awareness of mastery, and the Planner helps students stay organized. This combination helps students use AI more responsibly while building stronger independent learning habits.
