Q: How will the case be distributed?
A: In person at the Kickoff, and via email. After that it will also be posted on this website.
Q: Do we formally present slides at Coaching Sessions?
A: You can, as coaches will critique presentation style. You may also choose to go through your outline, solution, and anything else besides presentation, but coaches may not be able to give a lot of feedback on your solution itself.
Q: Can we seek guidance from faculty during our analysis period?
A: No you may not, other than your coach at Coaching Sessions.
Q: Will we know who our judges or coach will be?
A: Not until you enter your room for the round, and not beforehand.
Q: Are all teams signed up presenting on Nov 19, or does some elimination take place after submitting on Nov 18?
A: No, you will not be eliminated as long as you turn in your presentation and follow the guidelines!
Q: If I get sick and am unable to come to present in person, what should I do?
A: Please do not come to events if you are feeling very ill, and help your team prepare virtually. Contribute as much as you can to your team.
Q: Can people observe in the preliminary rounds?
A: Only if they have nothing to do with the competition, ie not other teams or judges. Family and friends who do not have a part in the competition are fine, but they should sit in the back quietly, and should come and leave with you. They should not watch other teams.
Q: Are Freshmen expected to do calculations and financial analysis?
A: All tracks receive the same case, and if there is a financial analysis or calculation question, all teams must answer it. Freshmen are not held to as high a standard as other Undergraduates or Graduate students.
Q: What does the "Decision in March 2022?" mean in the charge?
A: "Initially, Danone decided to continue serving the dairy (EDP) and baby food (specialized nutrition) markets in Russia."
Q: Can we use props?
The only physical things you can bring to use in your presentations are the printed slides if you wish to bring them. Other objects provided are the clicker, but nothing else can be used.
Q: What if we disagree with the company decisions made?
A: Since there is no right or wrong solution to this case, please be prepared to find good information to back up whatever solution you propose, and defend it well. You must answer the charge questions and directives whatever decisions you make.
