The Photonics Lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington is composed of people interested and enthusiastic about light, photons, optical devices and systems. We pursue research discoveries and innovations with applications intersecting the broad fields of optical communications, display and lighting, AI/ML, sensing and photodetection, biology and biomedicine.
