Research Interests

Chemical Oceanography and aquatic chemistry, specifically mechanisms controlling the distribution of trace metals, nutrients, gases and radioactive isotopes in oceans, lakes and sediments; export production in the ocean determined using drifting sediment traps, thorium isotopes and 15N new production; redox reactions in suboxic and anoxic environments. Ocean Acidification. Peak Oil. Locations include the Black Sea, equatorial Pacific and Arabian Gulf.
