Welcome to the Global Burden of Disease Methods and Results Workshop! 

The GBD uses cutting-edge methods to comprehensively quantify and understand patterns of health loss by cause (disease or injury) and risk factor, age, sex, and location at the national and global level, which can be used to inform health policy and advocacy. This workshop provides an overview of the GBD analytical strategy and a deep dive into some of the unique methods and tools for burden estimation used in the GBD. Participants will also become familiar with the major findings from the GBD, including leading causes of disease burden and the pattern and variability in burden globally. This workshop will provide hands-on learning to develop competency using GBD visualization tools to investigate the burden of disease.
