  3. Berkeley Public Service Center (part of the division of student affairs) includes student programs (including alternative breaks) and scholarship support, K-12 engagement, and public service internships and leadership experiences
            • They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2017! (by comparison, the Carlson Center was 25 years old in 2017)

  5. American Cultures Engaged Scholarship (ACES) program focuses on courses that involved students and community partners in collaborative projects;


University of Minnesota*

  1. The Office of Public Engagement (OPE) serves the University of Minnesota statewide, integrating “public engagement into the research and teaching functions”
  2. Minnesota Population Center has Population Health and Health Systems as one of five research areas
  3. Center for Community-Engaged Learning includes community-engaged learning classes (similar to service-learning, volunteer information, engagement scholarships, and support for community partners
  4. North Minneapolis Engagement Zone and the University District Engagement Zone (“collaboration Wednesdays, walking tours, immersion course)
  5. Leadership Minor with a mission to “embody adaptive leadership through compassionate action and meaningful connection”


University of Pennsylvania*
