The Central District, alternatively known as The CD, is a neighborhood in Seattle, Washington, known for its rich history and diversity. In recent years, the area has undergone significant demographic shift as a result of drastic change and growth in Seattle, thus resulting in rampant gentrification.
Gentrification has had benefits--it has helped businesses thrive, introduced modern urban planning methods, and contributed to a resurgence in the area's art scene--though it is not without consequences, which lie in the plummeting diversity seen in the neighborhood. Our group worked together to investigate this neighborhood's population health in light of these new changes.
