I am an Assistant Professor at the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw. I am also affiliated with the Robert Zajonc Institute for Social Studies, University of Warsaw (Poland).
My research focuses on migration decision-making (migration aspirations, forcedness/voluntariness of migration, destination choice), attitudes towards immigration and immigrants, attitudes towards emigration, perception of inequalities, discrimination, and contextual effects of migration.
I graduated from the College of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, where I studied geography, mathematics and psychology at the BA/MA level, and from the doctoral program at the Robert Zajonc Institute for Social Studies (PhD 2016), both University of Warsaw.
Previously, I also worked at the Migration Policy Centre, European University Institute (Jul–Sept 2013) and was a visiting researcher at the University of York (Sept–Nov 2025), University of the West of England, Bristol (Apr–Jun 2022), University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (Jul–Aug 2014; Jun–Jul 2023), Centre for Cultural Studies of Postsocialism at the Kazan Federal University (Oct 2015), and University of Colorado, Boulder (Nov–Dec 2015).
My work has been published in such journals as Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, International Migration Review, Migration Studies, Sociology, Group Processes & Intergroup Relations, Nationalities Papers, Problems of Post-Communism, Europe-Asia Studies, Eurasian Geography and Economics, and Central and Eastern European Migration Review.
I am an editorial board member at Communist and Post-Communist Studies and Central and Eastern European Migration Review.
