If you are doing research, databases are a wonderful tool to find substantive and reliable information. Databases are a collection of both recent and historical articles, studies, websites, and books curated by information professionals.
The State of California provides Ukiah High access to some high-quality databases.
The best databases for high school students are:
SIRS Issues Researcher This database collects reliable and vetted resources from major media sources across the globe. The articles and images are compiled into "topics" that reflect modern controversial issues. Each research topic will have pro and con viewpoint articles for each side of the issue. You must log in when you are off campus. Use the username 9O55OH and the password 95482. You can then log in with your school Google account to save articles to your drive.
ProQuest: eLibrary Much like SIRS, this database retrieves information from a vast collection of sources and spans centuries of historical information. eLibrary allows you to research more deeply and with a greater focus on a single topic.
