Modern robotics education

Robotics is a rapid growing field with lots of emerging potential. To keep pushing the technological advances in robotics, we need new generations of qualified roboticists to drive novelty. Education is one of the main contributors in cultivating the next generation of roboticists. As robotics is a highly multidisciplinary field, education too needs to adapt and take the multidisciplinary nature of robotics into account. Should we focus on training prospective roboticists in a broad number of topics, even though this may come at the cost of less in-depth knowledge of each individual topic? Is the answer the smart integration of highly specialized individuals with in-depth knowledge, but limited knowledge outside their field? What are the challenges and opportunities of both approaches?
