The classic Inktober challenge is to create one ink drawing per day throughout October. Our UTS version showcases one challenge per week, using prompts pulled from the wide range of monthly drawing challenges out there (we'll use Inktober, Drawtober and Drawlloween this year). We're also adding a LIVE DRAWING EVENT this year: a "drawing relay"!

How do I take part?

1. Create a drawing that responds to the prompt of the week.

2. Any media is fine as long as it includes INK! So markers, brush and ink, printer ink, etc are all good.

3. Email a digital copy or a good photo/scan to Mr. Pullen by 8pm on the deadline.

4. All entries will be posted online and outside the art rooms as soon as I can manage.

5. Winners will be announced ASAP after the entries are posted.

• All UTS community members can take part, but only UTS students are eligible to be contest winners.

• Late entries might be included, but are not eligible for prizes.

• A panel of celebrity judges will award three artists per week. Winning artists will get a prize! Judges/prizes TBA.

• Judging criteria will be unannounced and pretty dodgy. For example, some drawings won in previous years for "Most Bling", "Least Ink", "Most Harrowing" and "Most Likely to be Made into an Animated Short".

Week TWO (due Tues Oct 11, 8pm): Midnight Delivery (from Drawtober)

Week THREE: Thursday Oct 20 - DRAWING RELAY

• 5 minutes of drawing each, one at a time, same paper

• theme provided at the event

• markers provided for all participants

Week FOUR (due Wed Oct 26, 8pm): Teacher from the Black Lagoon (from Drawlloween)

• photos of consenting teacher models will be provided

• Reference 1960’s monster movie conventions and poster designs but update it to reflect contemporary thinking about gender - no bikini-clad damsels in distress please!

• This is a fun challenge - so your caricatures should make everyone smile - especially the model
