A discussion is essentially a facilitated conversation. During our discussions, the Discussion Leader shares their researched psychology topic by presenting any background information, case studies, and recent research, to begin a conversation that is then facilitated and mediated, with further studies, and questions.
Discussions and events take place throughout the school year (Sept - April). Discussions and events are open to all registered students at the University of Toronto, across all campuses, all programs, full time/part time statuses, and undergraduate/graduate levels of study, as long as they are always respectful to all other participants.
As with all our discussions, please remember that though we encourage sharing of personal experience and stories, these discussions are not an adequate replacement for professional help.
Please be respectful and conscientious of peers around you.
Remember that everyone comes with a different perception of the world, and a different set of knowledge. Be Curious > Critical!
When presenting a factual statement, please ensure that it can be backed up with credible evidence.
Discussion Leaders are responsible for choosing and researching a psychology or psychology-related topic and facilitating that topic as a discussion for UofT students.
