Our school counselor came to visit our class this week, and it was such a positive experience! She talked with the students about stress, what it is, how it can make us feel, and most importantly, healthy ways we can handle it.
The students learned simple strategies like taking deep breaths, using positive self-talk, asking for help, and taking short breaks when needed. They were engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and participated in great discussions.
🌟 Greetings 2A Families! 🌟
What a Sweet Week in 2A! 💕 We had so much fun celebrating Valentine’s Day together! The students loved exchanging valentines, enjoying time with friends, and especially painting our kindness rocks. We talked about how simple gestures—like a kind word, a smile, or a small act of thoughtfulness—can bring someone a really big smile. It was such a special reminder of the power of kindness in our classroom and beyond!
As a school community, we will celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass on Wednesday, February 18. Please be sure your child comes dressed in their proper formal dress uniform (black dress shoes and cardigan sweater).
Next week in our ELA program, we will begin learning about timelines as part of our biography unit. Students will have the opportunity to create their own personal timeline, and this activity is especially meaningful when they can use photos from home.
Please help your child select 5–7 photos that represent important moments in their life. On the back of each photo, please write the month and year of the event and make sure your child understands what the event is so they can share about it in class.
Please send photos to school by Friday, February 20.
We will create the timelines at school. Please be sure the photos you send are ones that can be cut and glued.
Thank you for helping make this a special project for the students!
Looking forward to another wonderful week together! đź’ś
Warmly,
Ms. Wileyđź’›
In 2A, we are learning about grit — the ability to keep trying even when something feels hard.
Grit means:
Not giving up
Trying again after making a mistake
Practicing even when something doesn’t come easily
Using positive self-talk (“I can do hard things!”)
📚 Read Alouds About Grit
