INTRODUCTION

The Electrical Engineering Unit (UKE), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, was established at the end of 1976. The Electrical Engineering Unit began operating at University Teknologi Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur under the management of the College of Science & Technology (KST) and later expanded under the auspices of the Management Office University

Laboratory (PPMU) which is under PTJ Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation (TNCPi) "https://www.utm.my/office-dvcri/" until now.

The Electrical Engineering Unit has grown into one of the Electrical Engineering Units with 16 Implementing Staff providing Laboratory facilities in terms of Teaching & academic research.

Covering a wide spectrum of electrical engineering, the Electrical Engineering Unit currently consists of 14 Laboratories focusing on advanced areas of research and teaching courses in specific areas of activity. The 14 laboratories are:

9. EQUIPMENT LABORATORY (P302)

10. ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT LABORATORY (C206)

11. DIGITAL LABORATORY (P305)

12. CONTROL LABORATORY (B201)

13. AUTOMATION & ROBOTICS LABORATORY (H407)

14. PCB LABORATORY (05.59.04)

Apart from teaching and learning activities, the Electrical Engineering Unit also provides research and services in the field of electrical engineering expertise to government and non government agencies.

The Electrical Engineering Unit also has strengths in the areas of sustainable instrumentation & control engineering, electrical engineering, telecommunications engineering, electronic engineering, Robotics & Automation Engineering and computer engineering. This research and development activities have made a special contribution to UTM and indirectly, have helped to enhance Malaysia's position as an industrial country.
