Student Circular No. 14/2021 - Procedures for students' movement to enter UTM Johor Bahru and UTM Kuala Lumpur campuses beginning 15 October 2021

Academic Circular No. 5/2021 - Teaching and Learning Methods for Semester 1 Session 2021/2022

1.With all due respect, it is informed that the University Senate Meeting No. 11/2020/2021 dated 25th August 2021 has approved the Method of Implementation of Teaching and Learning Semester 1 Session 2021/2022 as follows: -

i. All undergraduate and postgraduate lecture-based courses have to be conducted online

ii. Research activities in the laboratory for postgraduates’ academic programs can be conducted face to face through admission to campus in phases starting from Week 9 onward and are subject to the latest announcements by the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

iii. Courses which involve Industrial Training must follow the attendance requirement for training as stipulated by the industry. For students who need to attend Industrial Training in UTM, students should comply the Standard Operating Procedure set by the Department of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs).

iv. Courses involving laboratories, studios and practical work (including Survey Camp) can be implemented through blended/hybrid. Face-to-face meetings are allowed from Week 9 and are subject to the latest updates by the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

v. Courses involving Service Learning have to be fully conducted online.

vi. All forms of assessment be it formative or summative, should be conducted online.

vii. Academic programs requiring accreditation from professional bodies may conduct final examinations face-to-face; subject to the latest updates by the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) and must comply with the Standard Operating Procedure set by the Department of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs).

2. Also, please be informed that the approval of the University Management Committee Meeting No. 17/2021 dated 8 September 2021 stipulates that only students who have received 2 complete doses of Covid-19 Vaccine will be allowed to apply for admission to the UTM campus.

3. The Categories of students who are given priority to enter the campus for teaching and learning purposes are subject to the current announcements by the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). All student admissions into the campus must comply with the Standard Operating Procedures set by the Department of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs). The priority categories of students are as follows:

i. Students who need to attend Industrial Training (LI) in UTM.

ii. Students who need to enter the campus to fulfil the MOHE requirements of Physical meeting (examples: sitting for a professional body examination to complete a course to meet the requirement of the professional body such as Counselling and Survey Camp)

iii. Student with the “Tidak Selesai” (TS) status, final year Undergraduate students, Master students and Doctoral students due to the need to use the laboratory.

iv. Students of the Postgraduate Research Program with sponsors.

v. Students enrolled for Semester 1 session 2020/2021 (admission in turns by faculty)

vi. Affected students who need a conducive learning environment.

vii. New students enrolled for semester I session 2021/2022

UPDATE STUDENT VACCINATION INFORMATION

The university requires students to update vaccination data through the my utm/ utmsmart platform as soon as possible (before or on 11 September 2021) for reporting to the MOHE for planning admission to campus. Refer Manual update vaccine status.

Application to Resume laboratory Works during MCO 3.0 period for PG Full Research Students

Dear respected supervisor and PG student.

Terms:

1. The application is opened only to PG full research students who are currently residing in UTM Campus (Residential College)

2. Effective period of application: 19 June – 28 June 2021

3. The experiment/laboratory does not involve group works. It is limited only to two students per one technical staff.

4. The application will take approximately two days to be processed.

5. The successful applicant will be informed via email stated in the form.

6. The maximum working hour at the laboratory is given only 4 hours a day from 8.00 am-12.00 pm. The student should inform the laboratory coordinator if the student cannot come to the laboratory on the day of work. The student will be blacklisted if the student does not attend his/her working slot for the following week without appropriate reason.

7. Students need to inform the technical staff on duty once he/she arrived at the laboratory.

8. The student should follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) during working at the laboratory by wearing the face mask.

9. The student should submit the application form by today before 9.00 pm to the SKA Associate Chair Facility by email. All the received form will be sent to the HEP for full approval by the HEP. The full schedule for the following week to 28 June 2021 will be announced on Saturday 19 June 2021 afternoon by email.

Implementation of teaching and learning of post-graduate courses of the School of Civil Engineering in Semester 2 Session 2020/2021

1) In relation to the above, I on behalf of the management of the School of Civil Engineering would like to inform that the school intends to implement teaching and learning in a blended / hybrid for master project and research courses (PhD and M.Phil) in Semester 2 Session 2020/2021 . Through this method, students can only come to school if it involves laboratory activities only.

2) Apart from the above courses, the teaching and learning method is conducted online in semester 2 of the 2020/2021 session.

ACADEMIC CIRCULAR NO. 12/2020

TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS FOR SEMESTER 1 SESSION 2020/2021

With all due respect, please be informed that University Senate Meeting No. 2/2020 dated 25th November 2020 has approved the Teaching and Learning Methods that will be implemented in Semester I Session 2020/2021 based on COVID-19 Pandemic and the announcement of the National Security Council (NSC) dated 7th November, 2020 as follows:

i. All the undergraduate and post graduate courses has to be conducted online.

ii. Courses involving Industrial Training must follow the stated Stipulation of Attendance based on the training industry.

iii. Courses involving laboratories, studios and practical has to be implemented online. Face-to-face meetings are allowed from 1st January 2021, but subject to the announcement by the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Higher Education.

iv. Courses involving Service Learning has to be fully conducted online.

v. All types of assessment whether formative or summative has to be implemented online.
