Leadership is fundamental in any organization. Without leaders, there is no organization. A key to this program is to build consistency across the state to reinforce existing leadership roles and encourage both new and current members to enter the pipeline. Leaders are not just our officer teams across the state; they also represent our committee and project chairs, our Extension liaisons, and our social media and activity representatives (among others).
We all do! This program provides a foundation for creating confidence and instilling value to the overall Extension Master Gardener program. By engaging our individual volunteers and local organizations in fundamental leadership activities, it provides an outlet for networking, partnering, and exchange among all volunteers across the state, thus empowering both the individual and the local membership...
I'm glad you asked...Our pilot year kicked off in 2020! We are excited to announce this program is ongoing each year thereafter. The idea is to have a few current and/or future leader leaders at the local level attend each year. This provides a framework for creating a leadership pipeline at the local level, thus enhancing all aspects of leadership throughout the local organization.
By being hands-on with the curriculum! By implementing a module (or a component of a module) on a monthly basis, you are creating a culture of transparent communication, active engagement, and fostering the fundamentals of a successful organization (TEAM). Keep the components of leadership at the forefront of the membership to encourage, empower, and inspire all members to lead.
Grow yourself; grow one another; grow the organization...
