This Module for Operationalizing TVAAS: Integrating Value in Assessment and Testing Experiences (#MOTIVATE) is designed for UTK teacher candidates to learn about:
the Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS), and
high-leverage practices to employ in the classroom in relation to TVAAS, and
how to analyze and understand value-added data in a way that is meaningful to classroom instruction.
This website has seven lessons, each with a couple of questions at the end to confirm that you have completed each lesson. This module also contains a final assessment.
First, complete the seven #MOTIVATE lessons listed below. You can access these lessons by clicking on the links listed below or through the navigation bar under Lessons These lessons involve reading information and watching videos related to value-added data and assessments, as well as completing activities and Lesson Checks to apply what you learn in this module.
You can complete this training at your own pace, one lesson at a time.
Keep track of the lessons you have completed (in order to make sure you complete each one). The short quizzes at the end of each lesson will record your completion of each lesson.
You need to complete this training before UTK can confirm that you have met all requirements for your teacher licensure. Make sure that you complete the short quizzes at the end of each lesson as well as the final assessment after completing all lessons.
You have probably already heard and learned some stuff about TVAAS & standardized testing throughout your time at UTK and your time in schools. #MOTIVATE asks that you keep an open mind through this training towards the ultimate goal of improving the educational experience of students in your classroom.
