2026/06: Dr. Zhang attended the 30th Green Chemistry & Engineering (GC&E) Conference in San Antonio, Texas, where he co-organized the symposium "Advanced Catalysis for Renewable Carbon Conversion" and presented the research on CO2 conversion.
2026/05: Dr. Zhang participated in beamtime experiments at Beamline 8-ID, National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) at Brookhaven National Laboratory under user proposal (#320913). We appreciate the support provided by Alkil Tayal and Jorge Moncada Vivas.

2026/03: Congratulations to Jing for representing our group at the Southeastern Catalysis Society (SECS) 2026 Annual Symposium at Virginia Tech with an insightful oral presentation tilted, 'Engineering Ni-amorphous CeO2 Interfaces for Dry Reforming of Methane'.
2026/02: Our group received support for a corn starch utilization project from the Tennessee Corn Promotion Board—we are grateful for their support .
2026/01: We are delighted to host Patrick Hemberger from PSI for a seminar titled "Seeing the Unseen: Detection of Reactive Intermediates at Synchrotrons".
2025/11: Our research article, "Formaldehyde-Mediated Initial Hydrocarbon Formation in Methanol to Hydrocarbon Reaction", collaborated with Prof. Javier Ruiz-Martínez from KAUST and others, is online in ACS Catalysis.
2025/11: Our research article, "Securing interfacial cationic copper for acidic CO2 reduction to ethylene", collaborated with Prof. Jie Fu from ZJU, is online in Nature Communications.
2025/10: Dr. Zhang participated in beamtime experiments at the Advanced Light Sources, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory with his colleagues Patrick Hemberger, Andras Bodi, and Jovanni Cabana from the Paul Scherrer Institute.
2025/09: Dr. Zhang attended the Bioderived Materials and Chemicals in Circular Bioeconomy Systems Conference in Pigeon Forge, TN.
2025/06: Dr. Zhang attended the NAM29 in Atlanta and delivered a talk titled "Operando Photoelectron Photoion Coincidence Spectroscopy to Detect Short-Lived Intermediates in Catalysis".
2025/06: We’re excited to welcome Jing to the group as a new Ph.D. student!
2025/02: Dr. Zhang's perspective article, "Rekindling the use of acetylene as a chemical building block", co-authored with Prof. Javier Pérez-Ramírez and others, is online in Nature Chemical Engineering.
