Both in the Old and New Testaments we are told to love the Lord our God with all Our Heart, Mind, Soul. (Matthew 22:37)
We believe God made us that we might know Him and be known by Him in a loving relationship with Him. We do this in the way that we worship Him and seek after Him both inside the Church and out.
At Sundays Worship Celebration we worship God with all that we have and all that we are! You are challenged to bring your Bible and even a notebook each week so that you can highlight important Scriptures and jot down notes to yourself during the sermon. Don’t have a Bible? No worries! We’ll give you one!
Our style of music creates an atmosphere where God inhabits our praises. Our worship is blended. We have a mixture of both newer/contemporary worship and older/hymns using both live and prerecorded music. Whether you sing loud or not at all; whether you raise your hands, clap or just stand there with your arms folded – feel free to praise God in your own way! Our aim is to simply make a joyful noise.
Also, if you have a musical gift that you would like to share, we would like to find ways to allow you to share that with others and use for the glory of God. Please feel free to share with our pastor, who would be more than happy to support your gifts.
We take a few moments share about some of the great things that God is doing in our life, while also noting the areas of hardship or struggle where we can ask for the Lord's help and healing.
We encourage children up to 5th grade to come forward during our Children’s Moment where they are taught Bible Lessons in a way that relates to them. If we have KidZone that week, children (grades K-5th) will head to KidZone following the Children’s Moment for energized teaching and a variety of fun activities. Through the summer and other occasions, we keep our children in the service. If needed, we offer Activity Bags filled with coloring pages, puzzles, books and other activities for them to use during the service.
Our Cry Room is always available during the service to take any child who needs extra space to be active or for those nursing – who need to change a diaper etc.
And in case you were wondering, you don’t have to dress up or look a certain way. You don’t have to be any particular age either. This is a place where God meets people right where they are, who aren’t perfect, in any life stage, in any part of their spiritual journey. We currently serve the Licking and Knox counties but no matter where you’re from, you are welcome here.
You can watch prerecorded sermons, teachings and messages online at our YouTube Channel – Utica United Methodist church. You can also search for our Facebook page Utica United Methodist Church or ask to friend us at Utica Umc.
