The goal of this guide is to prepare library staff  to serve the needs of their communities

and educate them on creating an inclusive and welcoming environment. 

Our group has a range of job titles and experiences within a library setting, but we all agreed that many topics within modern librarianship are difficult to navigate. We decided that having a lib guide/menu of options for library workers to access would be beneficial in our lives as well as the lives of our coworkers and peers. 

Whether someone is new to the library profession completely, or needs sources for one specific topic, we wanted to have something for everyone to access and navigate their way through.

The main topics that we chose to focus on are Access, Listening to your Community, Professional Development, Conflict Resolution, and Things to Consider. This guide is not exhaustive and certainly has potential to grow. Some topics that we wanted to explore further can be found in the Things to Consider section.
