They should have sufficient experience in the cardiac catheterization laboratory to perform a basic heart catheterization, understand and interpret the obtained hemodynamic data, and be prepared to make decisions regarding the indications for interventional procedures. They should be comfortable interpreting electrocardiogram, be able to read Holter monitors and exercise study testing results. They will be comfortable managing the cardiac features of neonates with congenital heart disease, post-operative patients, in both the ICU and general ward settings. The fellow will have research opportunities that will allow the preparation, presentation of data, and development of a scientific manuscript. Other related educational opportunities exist, based upon interest, to improve their clinical and scientific skills.
