This study examines the relationship between social-emotional experiences and depressive symptoms in adolescent girls with and without Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). A total of 120 participants, ages 14 to 16, and their caregivers will take part in a two-year longitudinal study involving one in-person baseline assessment and multiple waves of remote data collection. Methods include ecological momentary assessment (EMA) via a smartphone app, self- and parent-report questionnaires, and clinical interviews. The goal is to identify social and emotional factors that may influence the development or severity of depression during adolescence.
