Advisory Board overview
What does the board provide?
The board advises the UT GEAR UP Educator Outreach Professional Development Project
Manager and Coaches on strategies to meet the UT GEAR UP grant goals and district priorities
through programming and services.
Who does the board advise?
The board advises the UT GEAR UP Educator Outreach Professional Development Project
Manager and Coaches. The board will not advise UT GEAR UP in any capacity outside
Educator Outreach.
Who should be on the board?
Board members should include representatives from each district participating in the UT GEAR
UP Grant. These representatives should be knowledgeable about the needs of each
participating campus in their district. Further, these representatives should be programming
decision makers for their district.
Who will decide who is on the board?
The UT GEAR UP Educator Outreach Professional Development Project Manager and Coaches
will review potential board member qualifications and determine who will sit on the advisory
board.
When will the board meet?
The GEAR UP Educator Outreach Advisory Board will meet quarterly.
What are board member responsibilities?
Board members will commit to attending all advisory board meetings and participate in board
correspondence and dialogue. Each participating district will commit to hosting at least one
board meeting in a two-year period.
Is board participation required for the grant?
Participation is highly encouraged and will direct additional resources and services to your
district to help district priorities and goals.
