The TRACK TBI network engages in an extensive array of studies. Currently, our lab is working on the following -
1) TRACK-TBI Longitudinal (TRACK-TBI LONG) The project extends natural history follow up of the original TRACK-TBI cohort beyond the current 1-year post-injury timeframe, via both telephone assessments and in-person visits that include biospecimen collection and imaging.
2) TRACK-TBI BIO – NF-L| The project aims to validate serum NF-L as a biomarker of traumatic axonal injury
3) TRACK-TBI EPI | The project aims to determine how post-traumatic epilepsy contributes to the negative neurological and psychological outcomes of TBI
4) Abbott i-STAT | To test the Abbott i-STAT hand-held platform for acute evaluation of TBI. The study aims to enroll ~1100 subjects over 2 years across the Network sites. We will be enrolling subjects who present with a suspected TBI (according to ACRM criteria) within 12 hours of the injury and who have a CT scan ordered. We will be attempting to collect a blood draw within 0-12 hours AND within 12-24 hours as well as a handful of outcome assessments at enrollment and a full outcome battery at 2W, 6W, 3M, and 6M. There will also be an MRI and an additional blood draw each at 2W and 6M.
