MISE 2019
1st International Workshop on Middleware for Lightweight, Spontaneous Environments
(at the 2019 ACM/IFIP/USENIX International Middleware Conference in Davis, CA, USA)
(at the 2019 ACM/IFIP/USENIX International Middleware Conference in Davis, CA, USA)
We encourage submission of two types of contributions: (1) original research papers and (2) discussion papers. The former should present novel, unpublished, technical contributions. The latter should strive to spark discussion by, for example, anticipating future architectures and application domains. All contributions should address middleware concerns in a domain or application in a way that does not rely on persistent use of a cloud-based service. Given that the above requirement is achieved, relevant domains include:
More generally, each contribution should be relevant to middleware, and contributions related to design, architecture, programming abstractions, interaction models, methodologies, tools, and algorithms are all welcome.
Accepted papers will be presented as part of the workshop, though we anticipate a mixture of short presentations with periods for more open ended discussion.
Submitted papers must be formatted in the standard ACM format and may be no more than 6 pages, including all content (all text, figures, references, and appendices). It is preferable, though not mandatory, that authors use 10pt font rather than 9pt font.
Paper should be submitted at: https://mise-2019.hotcrp.com/.
Workshop papers will be published in a companion proceedings for the Middleware 2019 conference, which will be published in the ACM Digital Library. (The official publication date will be the date the proceedings are made available in the ACM Digital Library, which may be up to two weeks prior to the first day of the Middleware conference.)
