As the FUSE program grows throughout Texas and beyond, we occasionally welcome new contract-based team members. These FUSE Facilitators work closely with FUSE staff members to grow their expertise in the Science of Engagement, build deeper relationships with Fellows, and help facilitate the annual FUSE Summer Professional Learning Institute (PLI) in Austin each June.
FUSE is a fellowship for 6-9th grade math teachers to promote student engagement in math. The fellowship content was co-developed by practitioners and researchers in partnership with the University of Texas at Austin. All of the fellowship facilitators are former Texas math teachers, and we're looking for more part-time facilitators to join our team and work with current Texas math classroom teachers. An ideal candidate is someone currently or was recently a strong math teacher or instructional coach in Texas who also has strength in facilitating the learning of their peers. They must dedicate roughly 10 hours a month to this project, with additional in-person time during June.
Requirements:
Must be a current or recent 6th-8th Math or 8th/9th grade Algebra I teacher or instructional coach in Texas.
Must be available to attend the FUSE Summer PLI June 10th-13th, 2024.
Expectations:
FUSE Facilitators must complete asynchronous e-learning modules (Estimate 10-15 hours in April/May)
Must attend a one-day virtual training session to be scheduled in late May.
During FUSE Summer PLI, Facilitators are expected to:
Actively engage with and build connections between attendees.
Facilitate both large and small group discussions.
Assist with all logistics related to FUSE Summer PLI
