mission statement:
EcoEducators hopes to cultivate an interest in ecological preservation—and we plan to do so in a simple, widely accessible manner. By locating, marking, and cataloging native species, we aim to increase awareness of Austin’s natural surroundings and encourage individual actions to promote the spread, maintenance, and conservation of native ecology.
Dedicated to protecting Austin's native wildlife, one plant and one person at a time, we intend to encourage the preservation of native plants in public spaces and at home—our organization locates and labels these species while also emphasizing their significance to natural surroundings. By redirecting individuals to this site, we make our chosen resources readily available for independent edification. We link both our sources of general information (regarding plant identification, preferred surroundings, ecosystem contributions, threats, etc.) and our recommended plant nurseries (hint hint: thinking of planting more native species?).
Our ecological tour starts on the University of Texas at Austin campus, where you will find additional resources for how to maintain and support such species.
Happy touring!
