50% of your grade.
You’ll earn this part of your grade by completing exercise hours throughout the course. The number of required hours depends on your credit type and semester:
20 hours for each FALL/SPRING quarter credit class
40 hours for each FALL/SPRING full semester credit class
15 hours for each SUMMER quarter credit class
30 hours for each SUMMER full semester credit class
You will need to track your exercise hours in Edgenuity's Fitness Log. CLICK HERE for a step by step tutorial on how to use the Fitness Log in Edgenuity. When you've completed your hours, submit the ‘Submit TOTAL Exercise Hours’ assignment near the end of the course. This is where I officially check and grade your fitness hours.
HERE is the rubric for this assignment.
You may choose any activities that you enjoy! Running, basketball, football, biking, swimming, hiking, walking, weight-lifting, yoga, Zumba, etc. (anything that raises your heart rate) are acceptable.
Note:
You cannot count hours completed before the semester start date. If you joined late, you can count any hours you completed since the semester start date and not the date you joined the course.
You cannot use the same exercise hours for multiple high school PE classes you are getting credit for.
Example: If you're enrolled in both Fitness for Life and Individual Lifetime Activities 2, you must complete separate hours for each course.
If you have a job that contains manual labor, you are welcome to count up to 25% of your exercise hours from the manual labor you complete at work, and then we ask that the other 75% of hours comes from other intentional exercise.
