We are so lucky to be able to participate in the USBE State Test. It is an opportunity to show what you know! This state test is for all students currently enrolled in Financial Literacy and can be taken from home. It is proctored remotely (using AI) on a specific day and time. All students enrolled in these classes are required to either take the test OR opt-out.
There are 52 questions on the exam and you should plan for about an hour to take the test. You may only take the state test once and you can use the calculator provided in the testing software. No notes are allowed. If you pass with 80%+ you will earn a printable proficiency certificate.
Remember, you get credit for passing the course, not for passing the test. The test does NOT count on your grade. You can still get credit for graduation if you do not pass the test OR if you choose to opt-out. The State Test is different from the Cumulative Exam in the course, which DOES count on the student grade.
Here are the two options: Take the state test or opt out. More details about each option are below. Regardless of your choice, you need to complete this form.
1. OPTION 1: Take the state test via Remote Proctoring.
We have a recently updated service for taking the state test online from home with an AI proctor on a date arranged with Mrs. Dayley. If you choose to take the state test, you need to be 100% complete with your online work prior to testing and have a computer with a mic and camera. COMPLETE THIS FORM to select this option.
▷ TO TEST: Follow the preparatory instructions linked in the red button below and be ready 10 minutes prior to the testing time of your choice. Once you have completed the steps in the instruction doc, your exam will be opened at the testing time.
SPRING 2025 Testing Dates and Times (CHOOSE ONE):
→ Wednesday, May 7 at 4:00 pm
→ Thursday, May 8 at 7:00 am
→ By appointment - Email Mrs. Dayley (tdayley@utahonline.org)
No testing will be available after May 8, 2025 unless arrangements are made prior to that day.
2. OPTION 2: Opt-out of the state test. To opt-out, specify your choice in the form below and be sure to upload the signed documentation. Be sure to mark General Fiancial Literacy (GFL) on the form as shown below.
Again, regardless of your choice, you need to complete this form. The documents that need to be signed are found in the linked form.
Both testing choices are equal.
Students earn the credit needed for graduation by passing the class, not a test.
