CE FIN LIT 1750 - Personal Finance - Strands & Standards
CE FIN LIT 1750 is the General Financial Literacy (GFL) course that encompasses standards that are essential to the development of basic financial and economic reasoning. Resource management and decision-making skills will be emphasized as students explore strategies on how to manage and protect the money they earn, keep, and spend. The goal of GFL is to help students become financially responsible and conscientious members of society as they contribute to their own financial well-being. Students should feel empowered to achieve financial success. This course is for juniors and seniors.
Economics - Strands & Standards
Economics is a social science that studies how people satisfy unlimited wants and needs with scarce resources. Characteristics of the market economy of the United States and its function in the world will be explored. Students will learn methods of applying economics to one's life.
Entrepreneurship - Strands & Standards
Entrepreneurship students will develop an awareness of the opportunities for small business owners and develop the planning skills needed to open a small business. Students will become aware of the traits and characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. Students will gain an awareness of the knowledge needed in research, planning, and regulations affecting small businesses and the means of financing a small business. They will understand the specific strategies of business management and marketing and the economic role of the entrepreneur in the market system.
Event Planning & Management - Strands & Standards
Event planning & Management students are introduced to many facets of event planning, including site selection, budgeting, catering, promotion, and evaluation. Students will be encouraged to organize, plan, and evaluate various types of events.
Hospitality & Tourism - Strands & Standards
The Hospitality and Tourism course provides the student with an understanding of one of the largest industries in the world. Specific applications include marketing, promoting, and selling the product of airlines, international travel, ground transportation, cruising, hotel and lodging, restaurants, and tours. Students will also learn the importance of hospitality and tourism's impact on the economy.
