Day Support Services
Day Support Services
Through our Day Services, we bring to light and foster an individuals personal passions with special guidance within a supportive community.
We take the time to learn about each individual we support and help them unearth what skills they have and how they may fit into a job or at home. We then help the individual apply those skills to every area of their lives. This is done in a safe and supportive setting through cooking classes, exercise, music, crafts, and other life-skills training programs. Opportunities are endless with new skills!
Creating opportunities for individuals is what we care about most. Adults do not need to be living in a My Heroes home to participate in any of our Day Services, and transportation can be organized or provided.
Day Services Provides hourly support, supervision and habilitation for individuals and groups of up to 20 adults in a safe, non-residential, structured community habilitation programmatic setting, or in other naturally occurring environment or community settings where people can gather in groups during the day after normally occurring school or training activities have ended. The purpose of the service is to help people avoid becoming isolated and encourage them to participate in and contribute to their community. The service also helps maintain or improves a person's dexterity, stamina, memory, personal safety, interpersonal relations, self-help, communication, mobility, hygiene and other functional abilities and life skills. Services may include assistance with feeding and toileting, and implementation of behavioral support plans.
