Hello Blue Ribbon Council members. Everything you will ever need during your service on the Blue Ribbon Council can be found here.
What's new??
As a result of debris and ash flows from the Cottonwood Fire (and monsoonal moisture), Minersville has had a partial fish kill. You can read more about the status (as of 7/27/26) HERE.
The approved list of projects for FY27 can be found HERE. Thanks everyone for your input - we were able to fund everything except the Strawberry snowplow and the Green River work. Habitat Council decided not to fund the Duchesne River work so we'll probably see a part two for that project in FY28, but they are able to put the Blue Ribbon amount to good use and get some on the ground work started there.
You can find the latest Statewide Angler Survey report HERE.
--This year we'll be reviewing the four waters in the Northern Region this year. You can find information on these waters, including any field trips or organized adventures HERE.
--Notice also that the Diamond Mountain Lakes are included in that list. We'll be reviewing these waters also this year, but as an AREA (e.g., the Boulders and Uintas), not individually.
--You can access the criteria for Blue Ribbon waters HERE. Remember that in Utah, a Blue Ribbon fishery encompasses the fishery, the people (access), and habitat. All three are important when evaluating a water for Blue Ribbon status in Utah.
Check out the upcoming (2026) volunteer opportunities here (updated throughout the year).
Want to see 2024 or 2025 opportunities? Check out the archived spreadsheets here and here.
Blue Ribbon will be at Fishing Day on the Hill again this year (Feb 12, 11a-2p). Email Trina if interested in helping/attending.
We are no longer recording Blue Ribbon Council member hours for match purposes. HOWEVER, Dedicated Hunters can sign up here to receive DH credit.
