BROWSER SELECTION
It is advised that you use Google Chrome to access the Applicant Gateway. In addition, some work and school firewalls will prevent access to the Applicant Gateway. If you are unable to access or submit your supplemental application from a school or work computer, you may need to access the site from a personal or home network. See below for additional Troubleshooting information.
If you have trouble accessing or submitting information for the Applicant Gateway after reading the Troubleshooting section, you will need to contact the Liaison International (site developer) at 617-612-2881 for assistance.
SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION:
Although AMCAS may still be verifying your application at this time, we have enabled your access to our supplemental application. The supplemental application deadlines are as follows:
Early Decision: 7 days from the date of invitation and email notification.
Regular: 21 days from the date of invitation and email notification.
Supplemental applications MUST be submitted by the deadlines. Extensions will not be granted. Your application will be automatically withdrawn if the deadline is missed.
Submitting your supplemental application and LORs within the 7 day deadline does NOT automatically place you in the Early Decision program. You must apply to the Early Decision program through AMCAS.
Please visit Application Prerequisites to review important information regarding the Supplemental Application. Before you submit your supplemental application, be sure to thoroughly review all instructions. Additional notes regarding the supplemental application are as follows:
IMPORTANT: DO NOT delay completing the supplemental application until your AMCAS application has been verified. It is essential to meet the deadline for your supplemental application, regardless of its verification status. Disregard any message in the Applicant Gateway that instructs you otherwise.
There is no fee for processing your supplemental application.
Letter of Recommendation deadlines are as follows:
Early Decision: 1 August
Regular: 15 November
A maximum of six (6) individual letters of recommendation will be accepted for submission. Please ensure that the letters are relevant and adhere to any specified guidelines to facilitate a smooth review process. Applications will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee until LORs are received.
The supplemental application must be completed in one sitting and the Applicant Gateway does not save your progress. It is recommended that you complete your personal statement responses in a word document prior to submitting them. Your responses can then be copied and pasted into your supplemental application at the time of submission. You must complete all three personal statements.
Personal Statements
1. Medicine and Officership are time-honored professions that unite at “America’s Medical School” in rewarding and challenging ways. What are your thoughts and impressions about serving as a uniformed medical corps officer, and why do you want to pursue this career path? (1500 Character Limit)
2. The Uniformed Services University features a unique curriculum that prepares students to care for those in harm’s way. Please describe what in your research about our school and its values attracts you to our institution’s mission and approach. (1500 Character Limit)
3. Physicians, military physicians in particular, often navigate situations that are uncertain, complex, and ambiguous. Describe a time when you faced a challenging situation that required you to adapt in the face of uncertainty. What did you learn from the experience, and how do you think you will apply what you learned as an aspiring military physician? (1500 Character Limit)
It is recommended that you answer any disclosures and essay questions in a word document prior to submission. Your responses can then be copied and pasted into your supplemental application at the time of submission.
All fields must be filled in to successfully submit your supplemental application, unless indicated as optional. If you receive an error message or if you are unable to submit your supplemental application (the submit button is greyed out) you will need to carefully review your secondary to ensure all the fields are complete. If a question does not pertain to you, you must enter "N/A".
Email confirmations for completed supplemental applications will not be sent. Your confirmation will be displayed in the Applicant Gateway when the secondary has been officially submitted.

It is recommended that you answer any disclosures and the Personal Statement essay questions in a Word document so your responses can be saved. You can then cut and paste your answers into the supplemental application when you are able to access it again. You can find the essay questions above or on the Application Requirements webpage.
