The USTA recognizes that the coronavirus continues to affect the country in different ways and that it is possible for people to return to playing tennis indoors and outdoors under a number of different state and local government requirements as well as state and local government health authority guidelines. Because playing tennis does not require direct person-to-person contact, tennis players can enjoy the many physical and mental benefits that tennis offers while maintaining six feet physical distancing. By following the applicable requirements in your area, facility guidelines as well as the guidelines outlined below, you will be able to make informed decisions.

Junior Changes for 2021
We are excited to share that USTA will adopt a simplified nationwide structure, which will create a standardized system and greater consistency for our players, parents, coaches, tournament directors and officials. The new structure will utilize seven levels of events, ranging from Level 7 (Intermediate) to Level 1 (National Championships) and a universal ranking system that will distribute points consistently across the country.
The 2020 Shadow Ranking Philosophy was created to help facilitate the transition to 7 levels of ranked tournaments. The USTA will be importing results from existing 2020 tournaments that count for National and Section ranking points and converting them to the new ranking point table.
This nationwide system will provide consistent tournament levels and standardized tournament operations for all events—regardless of location—replacing a current system that is greatly dependent upon the region.
