a. Protect the rights and safety of humans in research by upholding the principles of Health Research Ethics and Good Clinical Practice;

b. Review all research proposals, except systematic reviews and meta-Analyses, from

faculty and students of the Graduate School for scientific, technical, and ethical soundness;

c. Review all research proposals involving GS faculty, students, personnel, and facilities for scientific, technical, and ethical soundness; and

d. May review research proposals from academic and research units within and outside the University for scientific, technical, and ethical soundness, who do not have existing RECs.
