Sadly, "all good things come to an end," but the lessons I gained on this journey are ones I will always keep close to my heart.
SHARING OF EXPERIENCES
Completing my teaching internship at UM Laboratory Elementary School provided me with valuable and meaningful insights that I will carry with me throughout my teaching journey. Through observation and teaching demonstrations, I improved my teaching skills and strategies, especially when working with young learners in the primary level. During my stay, I was also exposed to different cultures and perspectives that helped me become familiar with and embrace each other's differences. This exposure to other cultures and the school curriculum broadened my knowledge and skills not only in teaching but also in communicating with others.
Practicum procedures and teaching experiences include observation to become familiar with classroom routines and demonstration to apply what we have learned from our resource teachers/school. I learned new teaching strategies and techniques, and became more knowledgeable about how students learn best. As a result of our practicum, I was able to apply my learnings from my freshman year to the present. This applied learning also helped me to become more confident in my teaching skills and strategies. My passion for teaching grew, and I plan to keep it burning as I step into the field of education. The practicum also helped me grow professionally. I served as a guest speaker at a teachers' event to share practices for improving English speaking. Through this experience, I became more confident speaking in front of large groups.
I came to Indonesia to learn how to become an effective teacher, but I left with much more. It also renewed my passion for teaching and gave me a sense of fulfillment.

Overall, flying to a different country for the first time to learn and to teach was the best decision I have ever made. I will carry this great experience with me and share it with future educators as well, one of the reasons for creating this blog. I consider the differences and similarities in culture both a challenge and a blessing. Similarities in Indonesian and Filipino culture helped me not to feel homesick during our stay. Our differences broadened my perspective and made me appreciate other cultures by experiencing them. One of the biggest challenges I faced during my internship was the language barrier. This made communication a bit difficult, but it was overcome by making the effort to adjust and showing a willingness to learn.
For future SEA Teacher delegates, I suggest they be given more time to teach and explore, because a month really flies by when you enjoy what you are doing. Extending the time also gives more opportunity to explore not only the school, but also the city. Visit famous landmarks, eat at local food stops, and enjoy exploring the city.

Embracing cultural differences by taking the time and effort to learn each other's cultures
I also would like to appreciate the people who welcomed me, helped me find my way around the new city, and made my stay an amazing experience!
