Who Are We?
The Little Artisan Learning Center is inspired by the broad imagination and creativity of young learners. As one of the most common objects that young learners scribble is a rainbow, we decided to foreground the meaning of the rainbow and serve it as a representation of the learning and development of each child. Each color represents each letter in our logo in the rainbow. This shows our commitment to embracing diversity and inclusivity in giving a top-tier education that each child needs. We also believe that each child has endless capabilities that correlate to the endless rainbow that allows them to be holistic individuals. As our school adheres to but is not limited to the Reggio Emilia Approach, the child represents all our little artists. While the crayon represents creativity and artistry, we want to develop and nurture our learners.
Curriculum
Reggio Emilia Approach and Developmental Interaction Approach is the our main guiding curriculum which focuses on emergent learning that promotes child’s interest and experiences. Artisan means skilled trade that involves making things by hand. It is inspired from the special teacher in the Reggio Emilia Approach curriculum, called Atelierista. The group concluded that if teachers are called Ateliarista, there must also be a name for learners under this said teacher. In this learning center, it promotes active learning, exploration and innovation with engaging positive interactions among teachers and peers.
