The Beato Angelico Building houses the College of Architecture (CA) and the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD), located in the southwest quadrant of the campus. It is accessible from the Fr. Serapio Tamayo Drive, near the corner of the España Boulevard and P. Noval Street. Formerly the site of UST Press from 1940 to 1991.
Replacing the UST Press was the Fra-Angelico Building, a four-story structure, that served as an extension facility for the gallery and laboratories of the College of Architecture and Fine Arts (CAFA). It was later renamed in 1997, BEATO ANGELICO as the namesake was beatified by Pope John Paul II. The construction of the 8th-floor extension commenced in 1999.
CAFA occupied the Roque Ruaño Building from 1950 to 2003. The full occupancy of the present structure by the separated Colleges and the UST Publishing house began in 2003 to the present.
Post-modern in style, Beato Angelico was designed by Ar. YOLANDA REYES (Dean:1990-2000), its special decorative features are the reinforced concrete capitals ubiquitous in the UST Main Building facade.
