On April 29, 2017, the Bergen County Association of School Administrators (BCASA) and public schools of Bergen County teamed up to host the first annual school job fair and on-site recruitment opportunity. The event was designed to bring prospective teaching candidates together with school districts in one location to find out more about the possibilities for employment. At the event, participants had the chance to visit different districts to find out more about their schools, available opportunities, and even sign up to be considered as a substitute, instructional aide or leave replacement teacher.

This was a new endeavor for the BCASA and with over 660+ registered applicants and 35+ participating districts, the event was a great success. An enormous THANK YOU goes out to everyone involved.

Well organized event with a strong pool of candidates
Access to 100s of potential candidates- easy way to do an initial screening, supports candidates in understanding the process and the other possibilities for employment (substitutes, aide positions) while they wait for their dream position to open up. Gives candidates who may have already applied in applitrack an opportunity to get themselves a face to face. Gives districts an opportunity to have a face to face with applicants we may not have otherwise called upon for an interview.
It is nice to put a face and a handshake with each resume. We connected with several candidates that we will be excited to interview further.
This was a wonderful opportunity to have candidates reach out to potential districts. It gave the districts the chance to have a "first look" at the teaching candidates who are looking for positions. It also was a terrific experience to see how highly regarded Bergen County is and how many educators want to work here. The competition is fierce!
It was extremely well organized and we were able to meet some candidates that we were very interested in ... We also met people with a combination of certifications that are not easy to find.
The Bergen County Job Fair was organized exceptionally well. It allowed us to meet candidates and pre-screen them prior to an interview. We also were able to meet many candidates who are interested for long-term substitute positions. If many other districts are participating, I wouldn't want to miss out on securing great candidates for my district!
In addition to speaking to candidates, we had the chance to chat w/ staff from other districts to discuss their openings to find out their staffing goals, needs, etc.
