Since completing my PhD at the University of Kent in 2005, I have been at the Faculdade de Economia, Administração e Contabilidade de Ribeirão Preto (FEA-RP/USP), Universidade de São Paulo. I am currently an Associate Professor.
I have held visiting research positions at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (Capes/Fulbright, 2012), Queen’s University Belfast (FAPESP, 2013), and as a Research Fellow at Warwick Business School (University of Warwick). During my time at Warwick, I worked on the project “Peso Problems, Market Expectations, and Currency Risk” under the Newton Fund Advanced Fellowship (2018–2020).

Education
Ph.D. Economics, University of Kent, UK, 2005.
M.Sc. Economics, State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, 2001.
B.A. Economics, State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil, 1995 .
My primary research focus is applied international finance, with an emphasis on macro-finance models of foreign exchange markets. I also incorporate applied market microstructure models in my work. A central theme of my research is exchange rate dynamics, particularly the pricing of currency risk and option pricing with risk-adjusted probabilities.
Teaching at USP is an integral part of my career, particularly in the fields of Macroeconomics and International Finance. Here is the International Macroeconomics or International Finance program for FEA-RP/USP postgraduate students.
