I am an Associate Professor in the Mathematics Department at the United States Naval Academy, where I teach both in the core math curriculum and in the math department's Operations Research major. My research focus is mixed-integer and global optimization methods and applications. I love introducing midshipmen to the tools of Operations Research and optimization and seeing what cool applications they come up with.
I earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Sewanee: the University of the South and did my graduate work (M.A. and Ph.D.) in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kentucky, specializing in Combinatorial Optimization. I have been employed at the U.S. Naval Academy since 2016.
