Arab Youth Technology Fellowship: A Grateful Journey!

Joined the Arab Youth Center Tech Fellowship in Dubai and Abu Dhabi– an incredible experience that shaped my perspective on Business and technology. I'm deeply thankful for the enriching insights and valuable connections. At the same time, we had the opportunity to attend coy18 and COP28. I'm also very grateful to have connected with talented peers from different Arab countries. It was a pleasure to work on our project "Innovative floating photovoltaic systems to combat climate change and to decrease the cost of PV energy".

Special thanks to Jawahir BaniHammad and Mohamad Abdallah for their exceptional support in ensuring a smooth journey. Your efforts are truly appreciated. 🙏💼

Invited Professor to École Polytechnique de l'Université de Nantes

It was a tremendous privilege and honor to receive an invitation to share my expertise and knowledge with the esteemed members of the university, including Ph.D. and master's students, at École Polytechnique de l'Université de Nantes. The purpose of my visit was to actively engage in various activities and contribute to the development of the university community by establishing a framework for further collaborations in formation and research projects.

During my visit, I participated in the Kick-off meeting of the MidiNA project funded by the Europe-Africa Research and Innovation Call on Renewable Energy LEAP-RE (2023-2025). In this project, I lead WP2 on the resilient control of a district-scale off-grid MGs cluster and the IREENA laboratory of Nantes University is the project leader. During this meeting, I presented this work package which focuses on smart-control solutions to ensure the reliable working of SA-MGs against several critical conditions such as power supply of disturbing loads, weak renewable sources production, and ‘plug & play’ of new sources and consumers. The targets are: (i) Define reliable SA-MG architectures and optimize its real-time operation in terms of efficiency and flexibility under critical working conditions. (ii) Investigate the integration of advanced sensing and communication technologies, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), which can enable real-time, monitoring and control of MGs with distributed energy resources and improve the ability to detect and diagnose faults.

Furthermore, I had the opportunity to visit the IREENA Laboratory and acquaint myself with its diverse platforms, including DSpace, OPAL-RT, and teknoCEA. This experience has sparked interest in validating certain systems developed by our Moroccan team using these platforms, which will significantly enhance our research contributions.

Throughout my visit, I proactively pursued opportunities to collaborate with IREENA members and researchers. I actively participated in discussions to identify areas of mutual research interest, explored possibilities for joint publications, and generated innovative ideas for future collaborative projects. These interactions proved to be highly productive, laying the groundwork for potential long-term academic partnerships. Accordingly, we had the pleasure of finalizing our research paper on Red-tailed hawk algorithm for numerical optimization and real-world problems, published in Scientific Reports, a nature journal. link to the paper.

I had the privilege of attending meetings with university members, which offered valuable insights into the academic culture, ongoing research initiatives, and the research infrastructure available. These meetings served as an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge, nurturing professional relationships, and identifying potential areas of collaboration beyond the scope of my visit.

I had the pleasure of discussing with Professor Mohamed MACHMOUM the joint organization of the next CISTEM international conference, to be held in Rabat, Morocco, in 2024, and also the possibility of establishing a double degree program between École Polytechnique and ENSA of Fez.

I would like to express my gratitude to Mohamed MACHMOUM, Abdelhakim SAIM, Azeddine HOUARI, and the entire university community for their invaluable support and collaboration during my visit. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity for future engagements and the continuation of our academic partnership between Sidi Mohamed ben Abdallah University and École Polytechnique de l'Université de Nantes.

DAAD Workshop & Study Tour in Tunis: Project SAXEED.Fit4Market (automotive)

Over June month, I had the fantastic opportunity to visit SUP'COM Tunis, ACTIA incubator, Tunisian Automotive Association, COFICAB, and VISTEON. The experience was truly fantastic and left a lasting impression on me.

Throughout my visits, I had the privilege of engaging in inspiring discussions with scholars, scientists, incubators, businessmen, and industrials. These interactions allowed me to gain valuable insights into the main challenges in the automotive industry and its teaching aspects. It was truly inspiring to witness the high level of motivation and dedication each member brought to the table, all with a shared goal of contributing to this remarkable project.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved for their warm welcome and for creating such a memorable experience. Your hospitality and willingness to share your knowledge and expertise were truly appreciated. The discussions we had and the connections we made have left a lasting impact on me, both personally and professionally.
