Our Editorial Cartoon
What do you think this editorial cartoon is about? Well, we made this editorial cartoon to show how poverty affects people's lives. We can see that the poor person is chained to the heavy metal ball with text saying POVERTY. This is referenced because poverty is heavy or impactful to our lives. It is truly very difficult to live in this state. We can see "Depressed" and "Sickness" roaming freely around the person. This is shown as poverty can hurt our mental and physical health. People can get depressed since they don't have enough money to sustain their needs or wants. Of course, sickness can also come with poverty. Sometimes, people are forced to drink or eat dirty consumables. Food, water, and shelter are encased with "No money". Without money, we can't buy food, water, or even shelter. There is a brick wall that has "No Education" written at the side of it, blocking the poor person from seeing success, or even reaching it. We made this editorial cartoon as a way for us to reflect on these problems and do something about it.Â
